Comparing Bengkulu Local Languages and English

Today, English is one of the world’s primary languages of
communication. English is, therefore, an essential language to
master. Additionally, the Indonesian government added English
as a foreign language topic to the school curriculum. Due to the
diversity of ethnic languages in Indonesia, EFL learners are
frequently influenced by their native language during the
learning process. Bengkulu is the origin of one of Indonesia’s
several ethnic languages. It is a province on the island of
Sumatra that has numerous ethnic languages, including
Pekalnese, Serawainese, Rejangnese, Bintuhanese,
Engganonese, Pasemahnese, Muko-Mukonese, Melayu
Bengkulunese, etc. This book utilized contrastive analysis to
illustrate the similarities and differences in English across the
local languages of Bengkulu.
